Blue Beyond Consulting CFO Tom Tyler Receives Cor Unum Award

Castro Valley, Calif. — 06-05-19 — Blue Beyond Consulting today announced that the company’s Chief Financial Officer Tom Tyler received the Cor Unum Award. The award was presented Sunday, June 2, at Bishop O’Dowd High School’s 65^th commencement ceremony at Oakland’s Paramount Theatre of the Arts.

The Cor Unum Award is the school’s highest honor given to those individuals whose lives and work embody the core values of leadership, service, social justice and intellectual competence expressed in the school’s charism.

Childs, President of Bishop O’Dowd High School, at the award presentation. “I am grateful to Tom for his foundational leadership at O’Dowd and his driving commitment to dissolve the walls between classroom learning and real-world applications beyond, where knowledge and experience flow freely between these two realms. He co-founded the school’s Living Lab, a 4-acre certified wildlife habitat and outdoor classroom, and held a pivotal leadership role in the designing, funding, and building of the Center for Environmental Studies, a 5,000-square-foot LEED Platinum Certified educational facility. Tyler continues to contribute to the school community, giving presentations, leading field trips, and volunteering during Living Lab work days and the annual Anna Costa memorial tree planting event.

“I really don’t have the words to fully express how much this means to me,” said Tyler. “In looking back over my O’Dowd teaching years, I have so many fond memories and had so many meaningful experiences. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to be a part of and to serve the O’Dowd community.”Tyler has been CFO of Blue Beyond Consulting since the company was founded in 2006.
