Trudy Edelson

Trudy is a consultant with more than 25 years of communications experience. Her background is a blend of strategic communications, change communications, public relations, and training — for organizations ranging from start-ups and agencies, to large companies and higher education.

Prior to Blue Beyond, Trudy consulted with an emerging cybersecurity firm, where she worked closely with executives on marketing, communications, and more. She also created and led an agency program to train staff on a range of communication skills. It was in this role that she found her passion for working with teams to instill and shape organizational culture.

Most recently, Trudy worked on change management for a state university system, where she helped begin the process to unify faculty, curriculum, and technology across dozens of disparate campuses.

Trudy is known for her commitment to quality, her dedication to her team, and her knack for understanding technical concepts.

She holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from the Dyson School of Management at Cornell University.

What skills and expertise do you bring to the team?

Strategy and planning, a deep interest in developing talent and a fascination with change communication.

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

Being part of the team! I always learn so much more working as part of a group, sharing ideas, encouragement and support with the team as we work together to help clients build their culture, find opportunities and realize success, I’m a problem solver who looks at client challenges as puzzles to solve. I really enjoy learning about all possible pieces an organization may apply to a particular situation, and then figuring out how best to put those pieces together to achieve results.

Who or what matters most to you?

My family with my children, aged 17 and 13!

What is your favorite time of the year? Why?

My favorite time of the year is Fall, with its beautiful colors and cool, crisp air. I grew up in the Northeast and Fall always meant picking apples, jumping in crackly leaves, and dressing up for Halloween. Though I celebrate the season with warm, sunny California days now, I still bring my family to harvest apples in Sonoma each year.

What does "team" mean to you?

Team means working together and supporting each other as we realize a shared vision of success for our client and for each person in the group. Everyone brings their own unique perspective and skills to the team, and when we take on any project, we can accomplish so much more together.

If you could take the year off, what would you do?

I love to travel and experience new cultures. If I could take a year off, I would spend it going to museums in Europe, doing yoga in India, tasting the freshest sushi in Japan, kayaking near whales in Mexico, hiking among the Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia and climbing Machu Picchu in Peru, for a start.
