Saheema Rawat

Saheema is a consultant, shaping and developing our DEI capabilities and weaving those throughout our consulting approach.

She has been working in the field for 20 years, and helped set up one of the first employee resource groups at the Ministry of Justice in the UK, which showed her how she could combine her passion for DEI with her professional life.

Saheema has worked closely with a variety of organizations — including government, universities, for-profit and non-profits — across the globe. Each experience gave her valuable insight on how to transform organizations in meaningful ways.

She helped develop impactful guidance to UK universities on how to create inclusive learning and working environments, which helped set a new standard for DEI thinking and work in this area for a number of years.

Saheema is known for being a strong proponent of the power of diversity – how different life experiences can bring valuable perspectives and innovative practice to everything we do. Because of this, she approaches projects in a collaborative way, bringing people together under a common aim, and welcoming feedback while still driving progress.

She studied Social Anthropology and Law at the London School of Economics and was called to the Bar of England and Wales.

What skills and expertise do you bring to the team?

One of my first work experiences in DEI came from helping organizations address systemic racism, and so I will always consider ways we can enhance our work by weaving DEI into strategic planning, process improvement, organizational cultures, education, engagement etc. in an impactful way. Over the years, I have also developed deep experience in DEI and racial justice. My time working in the corporate arena (in HR roles – working with HRBPs and Comms) has helped me look at effective ways to align people-focused approaches with business success.

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

I love bringing together diverse perspectives, research and best practices to create strategies that have real impact.

What makes you proud to work at Blue Beyond?

Blue Beyond is a wonderfully collaborative and respectful place. I love how we come together and create truly innovative solutions for our clients.

What is your Blue Beyond?

My Blue Beyond is a world where DEI is a positive reality for everyone.

Do you have a quote that inspires you?

David Bowie is one of my role models, and I love this quote – I always think of it when I’m about to embark on a large project: “Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being. When you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.”
