Lori joined Blue Beyond in 2013 and worked as a consultant for five years before shifting to a full-time role on our marketing team in 2018.
Lori has worked in various internal/external communications roles for a range of companies from emerging tech start-ups to established players. Her experience has given her a unique perspective on the impacts widespread change can have on workplace culture in dynamic markets.
Lori’s strengths include creating and implementing strategic communications plans, developing creative content, and skillfully distilling complex material into clear and concise messages. She is complimented most on the quality of her work — when it comes to writing she takes the time to understand the audience and thinks through how an overall message will land from their perspective.
Lori holds a BA in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara.
I’ve worked in the tech industry since the late 90s in a mix of external and internal communications roles. I’ve lived through booms, busts, and everything in between. Along the way I honed my writing skills, but more than that, I have a unique perspective that translates into creating content that connects with people and engages diverse audiences.
I love solving the puzzle. At the start of any new project there is always ambiguity involved. Taking something that feels complex and turning it into something simple is the reward. It starts with trusting the process, and it’s not always easy. But inevitably it happens—you reach that point in the process where it all falls into place. The vision unfolds. And then you get to do that “yes” fist pump. It’s awesome.
Well, it’s not exactly work related, or at least not in the professional sense. A local radio station had a contest—write an original fight song for the San Francisco Giants, sing it on the radio, and win tickets to Spring Training in Scottsdale, Arizona. I won. And the Giants went to the World Series that year. Just sayin.

The moments when my dreams are realized—big or small. It’s when those moments you thought would never arrive, actually do. Sometimes they’re major, like getting a new job or buying a home. Or they’re fleeting and rare, like when my kids are playing quietly and happily together. It’s when the car is finally packed and we’re about to head out on vacation. It’s when what at once seemed impossible is possible. Those ephemeral moments of brilliant peace that you have to stop and soak up before they drift away. That’s my Blue Beyond. That’s what it’s all about.
