Accelerating Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) –
A Blue Beyond Partnership

Blue Beyond Consulting is a key partner in the design and implementation of a global program aimed at developing more – and more successful – women entrepreneurs in developing counties. In partnership with FLOW, a non-profit organization founded by John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods, and Michael Strong, innovative educator and entrepreneur, we are developing a global education campaign, advocacy for legal reforms, and education and training for women entrepreneurs. On-the-ground pilots in Senegal and Liberia are aimed at accelerating the growth, scale, and success of women-owned businesses.

In addition to AWE, we have actively supported a wide variety of efforts in the past two years. In our first two years, we have supported the following efforts:

• The Global Voices Project - building cross-cultural understanding and vision for our collective future
• Close To Home - nurturing a sense of place and environmental stewardship through encounters with nature in the SF Bay Area
• Healing Waters - guided rafting and kayaking excursions for people living with cancer and HIV/AIDS
• Inner City Outings - providing inner-city youth with wilderness trip opportunities
• Staying Connected and Camp WOW! - outdoor education activities for adolescents and their families, promoting communication, environmental stewardship, and social connection
• The Budongo Snare Removal Project (Uganda) - living wage jobs for former wildlife poachers, paying them to remove traps and snares to protect Uganda's chimpanzees, gorillas, and other indigenous species
